about Peninsula
We are a community of followers of Jesus Christ, committed to live by faith, to be known by love, and to be a voice of hope. We are a church that desires to be a city on a hill whose light shines across the South Bay and around the world. We are diverse yet together as one hope to display the deep grace of our God. We welcome people from all walks of life, regardless of where they are in their spiritual journey. Come to Peninsula, and help us discover the riches of Christ!

our mission
Our mission is to fulfill the great commission by bringing people to faith in Jesus Christ and to membership in His family, developing them to Christ-like maturity, equipping them for ministry and assisting them in fulfilling their life’s mission.

what we're all about

Priority of Scripture

"All Scripture is God-breathed and is useful for teaching, rebuking, correcting and training in righteousness, so that the man of God may be thoroughly equipped for every good work." 2 Timothy 3:16-17

Every member a minister

"In Christ we who are many form one body, and each member belongs to all the others. We have different gifts according to the grace given us." Romans 12:5-6

Nothing without purpose

Refer to the five purposes of the church taken from the Great Commandment and Great Commission. Matthew 22:36-40; 28:19-20

Instruction for life change

"Do not merely listen to the Word, and so deceive yourselves. Do what it says." James 1:22 Necessity of small groups
"Every day in the temple, and in people’s homes they continued to teach and preach the good news…" Acts 5:42

Necessity of community groups

"Everyday in the temple, and in the people's homes they continued to teach and preach the good news..." Acts 5:42

Seeker sensitive approach

"…Whatever a person is like, I try to find common ground with him so he will let me tell him about Christ and let Christ save him. I do this to get the Gospel to them…" 1 Corinthians 9:22-23

Unconditional love

"Accept one another, then, just as Christ accepted you." Romans 15:7

Life development process

"…We arrive at real maturity – that measure of development which is meant by ‘the fullness of Christ.’ We are not meant to remain as children… but to grow up in every way into Christ…" Ephesians 4:13-15 (Ph)

Authentic leadership

"Remember your leaders, who spoke the word of God to you. Consider the outcome of their way of life, and imitate their faith." Hebrews 3:7

How We Got Here
One Sunday evening in October 1964, six couples met to seek God’s guidance. Out of this meeting came Peninsula Community Church. On October 25, a covenant was signed by 33 persons, giving birth to this congregation. Meeting briefly in a ballet studio, they settled into Margate Intermediate School.

Those years of worshipping, praying, working and searching for God’s will saw a number of miracles take place which allowed for the purchase and development of the current church property.

The initial construction on Crestridge was completed in 1968, with the sanctuary finished in 1979. We share our facilities with the South Bay Evangelical Christian Church, a church reaching the Chinese-speaking segment of our population.

In 1999, we began construction on our new patio area. This new patio now accommodates many more people and is the perfect setting for meeting people during our Sunday morning coffee time. Highlights of our new patio include easy access from our parking lot, our Welcome Center Gazebo, and our Biblical gardens.
